Zen Grid Framework Features
The layout for Zen Grid Framework compatible templates is very easy to control. The framework is built upon the logic that underpins the 960 Grid system which divides the template width into 12 or 16 columns (depending on the setting you choose in the template administrator). The columns are then separated by a gutter, whose width is also defined in the template parameters, which serves to create an even separation between each column across the page.
Controlling the width of each module block is a simple task that is either controlled by the template itself or determined by individual settings that you assign via the layout parameters. The positioning of the module elements is entirely intuitive via the framework control interface, which means its very easy for advanced or new users to control all elements of the layout of the template.

The hidden panel is a core feature of the Zen Grid Framework and is an easy way to store non essential but important information in a sliding panel that can be toggled on or off on the screen. The panel is automatically displayed on the page when you publish any module to the panel1 to panel4 position.

Zen Grid compatible templates have the ability to transform standard Joomla modules into sliding accordion-like modules. The sliders are initiated by simply adding the module class suffix -slide to the module. Once you have done that the title of the module becomes the trigger which either hides or displays the module content via a smooth jQuery transition.
Modules in Ecolift can also use any of the three built in module classes to provide some added interest to the module styling. The panel menu in the Zen Grid framework is an accordion-like jQuery menu that utilises the inbuilt Joomla core module plus a small snippet of code. It is very easy to set up once you have the correct menu structure created for your menu which can be found on the Zen Grid documentation page.
Replicating the panel menu is as simple as following and reproducing the settings as shown on the doc page. You will notice that the only thing that differentiates the panel menu display and the superfish display is the module class suffix -panelmenu. Beyond that setting up the two modules are completely the same.
The superfish menu is a slick and slippery sliding suckerfish that smoothly drops down when the user glides over a parent menu item. Replicating the superfish menu is as simple as following and reproducing the settings as shown on the Zen Grid framework knowledgebase.
You will notice that the only thing that differentiates the super fish menu display and the panel menu display is the module class suffix -superfish. Beyond that setting up the two modules are completely the same.
